We have kept step with the changes taking place in our business over the last decade and embraced the advances shaping our industry. From our origins as a content provider, we have grown into a full-service partner offering a powerful combination of editorial expertise and multimedia know-how.
As we see it, there are three key problems attached to using AI text generators:
- Reliability of information: artificial intelligence produces “probable” rather than “real” content, meaning that all information and statistics need to be checked – and often turn out to be wrong.
- Copyright: sources are not provided for information, which massively increases the legal risk of misappropriating someone else’s work.
- Confidentiality of the information to which our customers give us access: information and texts entered in AI solutions are at considerable risk of being shared.
How we use AI
- We do not publish content with AI-generated text
Content created for customers and produced for The Editorialist is written by our teams and/or our network of specialised journalists.
For one thing, AI-suggested content may contain errors and is prone to inaccuracy. Plus, sources are not provided for most information. For these reasons, we do not consider AI solutions to be a reliable resource for this purpose.
- But we may use AI during brainstorming sessions
During the research stage, before content is actually produced, AI tools may offer a way to open up the field of discussion. AI-generated suggestions are always considered and vetted by our editorial managers.
- We are working to build up our inhouse AI expertise
Our teams are getting training in best practices, tools and current uses and can help our customers to advance their positions on this topic.
